With GST or without
- No GST registration? Make a simple bill with no tax. That is the common case for a home kitchen.
- Registered? Turn on GST, put in your GSTIN once, and the bill carries it, with your own rate per item.
- Mixed? A bill can have GST items and no-GST items on the same page, and the tax is only added on the right ones.
- Your own bill numbers. A series you choose, or your own number typed in — some businesses need an exact format.
- Prefer to hide the bill number? You can, if you hand a bill across the counter.
If you make a mistake after sending
A bill is not a one-way door. An issued bill can be corrected while keeping the same number, the same series and the same GST details, and it carries an "edited" note so you can see what changed. Nothing is quietly overwritten.
- Edit the items or the total on a bill that has already gone out, without breaking its number.
- Cancel a bill that was never really issued — it stays closed, and you can see that it was cancelled.
- Records are kept. Your bills, your payments and your expenses are all in your own Drive, readable as a plain sheet whenever you want to check them.
The honest bit about tax
